This is Zoe and her motorbike Mabel. Original Photography was by Derek Cutting from Firemate Photographics – when I saw his image of his war bike (LOVE that bike) and his model, it screamed Zoe at me. Well Lucia decided to recreate it for me and it’s AMAZING. Yes I have a desire to ride one of these gorgeous machines but driving a bike in Sydney is a suicide mission. I let Zoe ride instead – you can’t get killed riding a bike in a story…not unless the writer wants it to happen!

A few weeks ago my facebook book club group discussed 1950’s glasses. Since my character, Eva Lambros, wears them to read we discussed the fashion of the time. There was one particular pair that everyone agreed was just ‘simply Eva’. Lucia Nobrega set to work and created a new illustration of Eva with those glasses. I love the artwork and the glasses!

I should be doing one of three things: finishing off my edits of my upcoming novel “Mabel of the Anzacs”, writing my radio play OR writing my novella Enemy at the Gate for upcoming multi-author anthology. I’m doing none of these things. I want to create some art instead. Shiny things. A writer who is distracted and procrastinating…who would have thunk it! <g> This is my character Zoe – the logo is one of my distractions … Z for Zoe, E for Eva and L for Lambros. I think I did that when I was trying to distract myself from writing an emotional chapter.
